This place is truly a downriver hidden gem. Mrs. Lee is a hit or miss most times a hit. Their chicken lo mein spicy is the highlight of their menu. I was told by a fellow co-worker how good this place was and it didn't disappoint. Everything we have tried on their menu was spot on. To numerous to name, but I highly recommend this little place. If you live in the downriver community it is a must try. Good eating to my fellow Downriver Yelpers.

Amazing food at this carry-out only little joint on the corner of King & Middlebelt roads! They don't spend money on square footage but WHO CARES!!!! Best Chinese food south of Michigan Ave.

Fantastic Chinese food. Carry out only. Not sure if it's really that dirty, or just a very old building. Seeing the actual kitchen in operation may be a new thing for some. Never having worked in the restaurant industry and watching too much Food Network can possibly result in higher than reasonable expectations. This is the real deal Chinese carry out at real good prices. Now you go inna alleyway catcha five kitty.

One of these places you'll never notice when you drive by but that's a good thing because this place is phenomenal. Lilly and her husband are characters out of a movie almost and are great chefs. This place has been in business for nine years and it is apparent why. The quality of food is not at all what you would expect. I just moved to New Boston recently and drove past this place and got mocked for thinking about going there. I made my friends eat their words after we went there. The top three dishes to order are the orange chicken, sesame chicken, and general tsao's chicken. Lilly herself told us those are not only her best sellers but her specialties to make. Unfortunately there's no website for here but they have a carry out menu. Just call to order your favorite meal and grab a menu on the way out. For credit cards, you need to have a minimum of $10 purchase also.

You can only take out here. There is no place to sit. The place is very dirty. The food may be good, but I couldn't get past the cleanliness. I don't see how you can give a place like this 5 stars. Yes, the owner is very friendly, but seriously, you're serving people food. Clean up a little.

I love the food here. I also love the couple who own the place. They are always there working everyday and are so friendly. I am a regular and they know my name, also my dad, brother, aunts and uncles. Whenever I feel like trying something different she will suggest dishes to try and I've always been happy with the recommendations. Also you can ask them to make Any dish or specialty dish that isn't on the menu. The prices aren't bad and hey are large portions I always have left overs, or you could split a combination meal with someone. Things that i think they do the best are, egg rolls, egg drop soup, sweet and sour chicken, and beef and broccoli.

I love the couple who run this place, yup I said couple. It's a husband and wife team, they know us by name. She is amazing and so funny, she cracks me up. My kids beg to eat here. It's carry out only, and a tiny corner of a place, she takes orders and gets them together, and he cooks. I have never had better chinese. To be honest it have ruined all other chinese places for me, nothing compares. And they will make things exactly how you want them, offer suggestions, and she has even picked for me when I couldn't decide.

Diamond in the rough! This place is owned by a wonderful couple and they use only fresh ingredients. The soups are all made to order as are the meals. No standing food or pots with day old food in them. The egg rolls are the best!!!! Hot and Sour soup is great also. I like that a lot of their dishes are made Chinese traditional as well as American style. Friendly and welcoming owners.

Word of mouth even by the most reliable sources can yes I said it..can be misconstrued... Go figure.. As stated in my prior review (last night) word on the street was Mr.and Mrs.Lee, are retiring.. however I visited tonight and yes there is some truth to it but not quite the whole giddy up. The Lee's, are looking to retire but want to make sure they leave their legacy to the right individual...got to respect that.. I sure as heck do. The cusine the Lee's serve is nothing less then excellent. For real they are a carry out place, however the quality in my opinion beats even most upscale places. The spicy Lo mein is amazing best ever I like spicy but they offer regular as well. I've tried many dishes here, tonight was the ginger garlic shrimp which was excellent: eggroll crisp and delicious as well as amazing soups: chicken rice, hot and sour are fabulous. To boot the Lee's, are just excellent people who love what they do and its obvious by the quality of the food. This like noted before is a small hole in the wall carry out, however packed with a bunch of heart and amazing flavor. However it plays out, Asia Express is rocking downriver and hopefully whoever takes over..they will continue The Lee's legacy and do them proud.

The best Chinese food downriver. I've never been disappointed by anything I've tried. This is a carry out only establishment and the wait can be extremely long on the weekends. The facilities are a little suspect and on occasion I've been put on hold and never gotten back to. It's a two person operation so some idiosyncrasies can be expected.

This place is great! It's really hard to find a really good Chinese restaurant. The couple that run this joint are fantastic. As many have mentioned its carry out only. I can not name a place better in this area. I highly recommend it!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
